G20 defendant marks six weeks in jail, Last detainee awaits bail appeal hearing
August 4, Toronto – Community organizer and G20 activist Erik Lankin continues to remain in detention since his arrest early on June 26th. Along with others, he is facing politically-motivated charges in relation to the Toronto G8/G20 protests. He is the last detainee on conspiracy charges who remains behind bars, and is awaiting a bail appeal after almost six weeks in detention.
OPP seeks to silence alleged G20 protest ringleaders.
Activists warned that speaking to media could lead to jail.
July 29, Toronto – The OPP have warned two alleged G20 protest ringleaders Leah Henderson and Alex Hundert that their recent media interviews are a violation of bail conditions not to organize, participate or advise protests. On the morning of July 28, OPP officers called their sureties and threatened to re-jail them if they persist in speaking to the media. Leah and Alex were released on bail on Monday July 19, three weeks after they were arrested at gunpoint in a pre-emptive nighttime raid on their Toronto home.

July 26, Toronto - Leah Henderson, Amanda (Mandy) Hiscocks, and Alex Hundert, along with others, are facing politically-motivated charges in relation to the Toronto G8/G20 protests. The three were pre-emptively arrested at gun-point in a house raid on the morning of June 26, before protests began.
October 1st, 2009 - We respond to media coverage around AW@L's Olympic Torch Statementand we update on the continuing site 41 protests and the with a statement from the "People's Fire", and Dan rants about the dirty politics surrounding the development.
